Hello everyone,
As the title explains itself I'll be brief. Is there anyone here that plays 3.3.5 on Linux or has tried running it? Any pointers to disadvantages or issues along will be much appreciated. I saw some guides @ Google but as always the first-hand experience with this is always better. Anyways I saw the numerous changes that the staff did to the server and I would be happy to play this once again, at least as casual.

Hello, i play wotlk on linux os. Need just wine and u are good to go. I got even more fps in dalanar than on windows os.
If you can play on Windows, play there. Linux is not meant to run Windows games.
That said, if you are going to give it a try:
- Download PlayOnLinux (better than plain wine, will automatically download dependencies for you).
- Download any of our clients.
- Follow the setup steps, and replace the Program Files WoW folder for ours during the setup.
- Play.
From this point, you can tweak it as you like to make it work better for your hardware. But I personally run into memory problems after an hour play or so, so be ready to try out things.

Yes, I agree and it makes sense for Windows to always run DirectX better. I am kinda in a transition to Linux so I want to make a decision if I want to say good-bye to Windows for good. Anyways thanks for the input, much appreciated.Quote:

It is incomplete but it is enough, since wow is fun to play not because of ultra beautiful graphics, so if i see game little bit different than on windows i really dont care about it.Quote:

GPU drivers for ati is a big problem, but for nvidia it is developed much better. Sadly for these companies it is not worth to spend money for optimizing and updating drivers more often.
