Haven't played in over a year, whats new?

Hey guys, I main a lvl 80 DK on Lordaeron by name of Milesmortem, and I haven't played in over a year. The last time I played there was no ICC, no Uduar, no emblems of triumph or frost, we had only emblems of heroism and valor that you would get from doing heroic dungeons. I currently have 3.7k GS and the most before I stopped playing was around 4.6k so basically my question is, what's changed? what do I need to do to get caught up, also what gear should I be going for in order to start doing raids, what steps do I need to do, how do I proceed? I would also like to note that I don't have gold (225 to be exact) and have trouble making gold so I was wondering what can I do in order to advance better in the game, especially cause a lot has changed since a year ago. It's simple, go farm dungeons since every boss drops Emblem of Triumph, when you get like 4k gs you shouldn't have a problem joining FoS, PoS and HoR farms. With that alone you can get lets say 5k gs and start raiding with some guild. About what's new - we have everything except Ruby Sanctum out.
