When i put in my user name and password it asks me to input a digital authenticator code. I don't recall doing anything to my client's folder. What is this?

When i put in my user name and password it asks me to input a digital authenticator code. I don't recall doing anything to my client's folder. What is this?
Apparently it's the authenticator as pointed out by a friend.
