Which is the better trinket all round or just BiS for that matter? I'm really thinking hard on this since STS gives the highest base attack power its Arp stat makes it not so good'while DC/DV gives the lowest, it's attack power stat and it's stacking strength stat counters it. While WFS gives great crit stat yet it only gives medium amount of base attack power.
And according to post about ICD. All three has the same amount of ICD and uptime.
Is this in regards to PvE or PvP and for which spec are you asking?
PVE solely for unholy
STS + DBW are your trinkets of choice.
Odd. There has been quite a lot of guides that favor HC DV/DC over STS.
STS is the best trinket u can get for PvE.
That Arp is usefull for any DK dps spec...
Unholy DK PvE:
-DV hc, 2nd BiS trinket for longer fights, and fights with AoE DPS need (LK, PP,...)
-DBW, 2nd BiS trinket in single target burst tank and spank fights (DBS, Fester, Rotface,...).
I personaly prefer DV over DBW in almost all fights, duo to 33% chance of useless Crit Proc. Also, in some short single target fights where u cant get 2nd DBW proc, but u got a full use of 3 DV procs: DV > DBW.
STS > DV hc > DBW
That is how i would rate for Unholy DKs.
Overall u wont notice almost any DPS diference no matter which 2nd trinket u decide to go for...
As for Frost:
STS > DBW
Dont waste coins on any other trinket if u plan on playing Frost only.
Yea, DBW is real nice on single target, especially if you get str or hate crit for gargoyle.
But for longer fights with DC you can get both trinket procs right as garg is ready for second time and, if lucky, even third and more. STS and DC has same ICD compared to DBW, which has longer. Plus better AoE as Gnimo said.
DV/DC, WFS are only better than STS and DBW when we are talking pvp on the other hand when talking pve STS+DBW is BiS. Btw if Im right and the pet hp arent scaled yet for dk on this server (havent played for months) then you better switch to Frost if you want your dps to skyrocket because the way it is (when i played) your ghoul and gargoyle wont survive that long which is a great loss in dps this can only be compensated if you have shadowmourne if not, better switch talents if you want to be Top DPS.
As frost stack str gems until your passive armor arp is 40% then switch some gems to arp then wreck ICC with your dps.
Idk what you on about pets. All is fine, they survive, they do damage. Only times they die is sometimes on Sindra ghoul dies, depends on which heals get unchained. And on LK third gargoyle dies on 2/3 duration in remorseless winter because second transition starts.
Only problem with ghoul is it don't inherit expertise/hit. So you will see that annoying Miss/Dodge and minor dps loss.
DC will empower unholy role way better than DBW. It is reliable, no RNG. It will proc in time for gargoyle. Maybe you can dps whore a bit better with DBW, but DC will boost you where it counts.
