what he said.. by the time u hit 70 u should have almost enough gold for epic ground mount if u didnt buy crap off AH. Thats from doing just enough quests to ding 70.
Depending on your class (casters can get away with it easier) you wont have to worry about gearing up. At least not till you hit 58 and venture out to outlands. I leveled up a priest and I used a lv3 mace till lv61. lol
I would rush to 58 and you will get decent greens from the starter quests in outlands.
