Banned for advertising

Hello All,

First of all i know there is a lot of information about this but i have a question.

About 30 minutes ago i got banned by advertising when the only thing i advertise was making a macro to spam global to recruit for my guild. I don't know if this is forbidden or not but since i saw several ppl doing it i thought is not ilegal.

Can please someone explain if this is ilegal or not?

*anyway i open a ban appeal

I don't know how much time it will take to verify my ban but i didn't advertise anything else..

if you were using a vpn, don't. most are banned and will get you banned if you land on a banned ip.

Well you didn't answered my question... can you please clarify me if advertise is what i have done on my first topic?
