Assasination, combat or subtlety which spec is the best for PvE in your opinion?
Subtlety rogues are a meme in PvE.
Not a single person plays subtlety PvE, its seriously that bad. It competes with Frost mage for worst PvE dps class in existance.
Mutilation rogues do better at lower gear levels, and combat rogues do better when near BiS. The big reason for this is the fact that the stat Armor Penetration gets more valuable the more of it you can stack, but that said, even if you're ignoring all of a boss's armor, you still won't do much DPS if you have 0 Attack Power behind your attacks to back up the armor penetration.
Combat is mostly physical damage, and therefore scales with Armor pen better. Combat also provides some unique raid buffs that hardly any other class provides. Also, combat's rotation is much simpler when near-BiS, as you don't need to worry about applying DoTs.
Mutilation does better for early game, due to higher Fan of Knives DPS for RDF hc's and fos/pos. Mutilation also utilises more poison-based damage, which automatically ignores 100% of armor because it's non-physical damage.
I wonder how OP managed to get banned in just a single week
Assuming someone does real progression raiding through T7 and T8, Subtlety isn´t that bad.
If Honor Among Thieves is "bugged" like it was in retail wotlk without the 1 sec cd, this will let you spam 5cp finisher with every gcd. With a second rogue in the same spec exchanging tricks, its even stronger. Does someone knows if this is bugged in that way on warmane?
For T9 and T10, Assa beats combat until you have some ICC items. But if you are the only rogue in the raid, the raid wants you to play combat for physical dmg buff regardless of your own dps.
