Characters recovery

Hello its been 3 years since I last logged in, as I logged in i realized that my characters have been deleted, the realm I was on was Deathwing if I recall and had 2 toons 1 DK (Mordiggian) and 1 Priest (Carcosa). IS there any possibility I can recover them? As I see the realm Deathwing no longer exists... But I havent even been announced via Email that the realm is gonna close so I have to transfer them in order to fully use them.. Really need them back :(.

deathwing was merged with ragnaros to form icecrown. if your characters don't show up on the icecrown realm they're likely gone for good. but you can try emailing [email protected] and seeing what they say.

The weird thing is that on another acc of mine I got my dk added as friend and it still shows up as offline..
