Nelth - Open Source Development by community itself

Cata has been my favorite expansion for the last few years, and it breaks my hearth when I read news about the realm decommission.

At this point, there is simply nothing to lose.
Warmane attracts a large spectrum of players, some of which are software developers.
I suggest to convert Cataclysm development into an Open-Source project with a repository on Github or BitBucket, where everybody would contribute.
This way Warmane's role would be only to accept / decline pull requests after the fix will have been tested.

So all the would-be servers out there can leech the content our Developers worked to create?
Yeah, I can't say I see that happening, ever. And even if it somehow does, it's something that will be solely decided by the Administration and not within the scope of players' suggestions.
