Hey Community and WM Staff
I've been playin private servers for some years now and it feels like whenever a new server opens it's so much hype everyone is super motivated for the journey to gear up get those first kills and so on, wether it's tbc or wotlk, but after some time things die down and stagnate soon as the whole content is released.
Hardcore players feel like there is nothing more to archieve, casuals feel like they miss out on something when starting on a server where everything is released allready and I've been thinking to myself what can be done about that how can you maintain the hype for those older WoW expansions on a project instead of allways looking for new projects that offer the journey that people are looking for.
What I'm suggesting is something I took from another popular game "Path of Exile" which offers leagues that are running for a certain time and afterwards your characters and progress will be saved on the standard servers which are permanent and if you so chose you can continue playing your characters there.
I feel like this might be quiet possible for warmane to provide -> add 2 new servers 1 tbc 1 wotlk which will be progressive (maybe nonshop for competitive aspects), that will reset after a certain amount of guilds have cleared the content maybe even with some sort of reward system in place for doing so and transfer your characters/guilds to Icecrown/Outland if you want to continue playing those once the servers reset.
Warmane provides the highest quality in terms of working raids aswell as pvp mechanics that I've seen so far on private servers, aswell as its servers seem to be able to handle high amounts of players and I'm not saying it's perfect yet hell there are some bugs here and there to be fixed and people seem to jump on that immedietly making drama, some content release timings might not have been perfect either and this would prove a real challenge for WM staff to optimize for sure, but the end game might be that a lof of server hoppers that seek progression might find a place where they permanently have it and a lot of new players that want to experience an expansion in it's entirety might find it.
This is just an idea of mine I know the possibility that it's completely ignored is quiet high so just shoot some comments why it's bs at me or approve/suggest things how something like this might be possible, improved and eventually done.
Kind regards and merry christmas
Thony
