Community?

I am fairly new and honestly just spent the $20 to buy a fresh level 80. My experience so far has been terrible. The dungeons I get into is filled with gear score 6k+ players that just command the entire group to do their bidding and if you dont, or you say something about them being a general dick, they just link recount and laugh. I started at about 1.6k gs from the fresh 80. I am now at 3.7k and people wont even consider you to join their groups unless youre above the gear that drops. Its getting annoying and almost to the point of not wanting to even play anymore. I was excited to progress but theres so many toxic players with good gear that have a god complex.

Is there any golden gate I should be aiming for? at the moment it seems like im just squirming to do anything.

At 3,7k gs things you should focus can be the following: ICC rep farms to get the ring to exalted, RDF normals (If heroic is disabled) to farm emblems of triumph to get better gear from vendor and farm fos / pos / hor if you get lucky to find a group. As you progress further you should aim to get into a raiding guild, there are some progressive guilds out there in both factions. Also if you have vote poitns for some better items, feel free to use them if you won't need them for other stuff.

Sadly some high geared can be dicks and think just because they have better gear and do more dmg they can command others. luckily I dont meet them very often.

I would suggest looking for a good guild then you can do dungeons with premade groups and farm for gear that way. They can also help you with tips on what to do to progress your character

Vast majority of pug groups will be extremely toxic and will be dicks to you regardless of your gear. You can be 6k+ gs they will find a way to complaing " Ooo you suck with your gear you should be able to do way more dps l2p *****". People who are actually social and nice to have around are in guilds and do everything they can to avoid playing with random players, so you will almost never see them. I know this is very cliche thing to say, but try to find a guild that recruit people not gear and is social. Then stick with people in the guild and try your best to avoid randoms. The different between been in solid guild and playing with randoms is so huge that feel like you are playing on completely different server.
