Are you sure you're playing on this server? Because there is no button for random names here. I also tried creating a few characters with different names and there was no problem. You can check if the name you want is already taken by looking at the Armory.
The enUS client has a button that lets you generate random names when you create a new character. That button is, for some reason, not available in any other locale. Not even in enGB.Quote:
