Returning Player- Missing Character that had Donated Items

I am a player that used to play on Warmane WOTLK and have returned to playing. I noticed however that the character I had before has been deleted for some reason. I was wondering if it was possible to retrieve this character someway or if not, at least get the donations coins I had from items on the deleted character refunded.
