Have you toyed with the audio options?
yes but nothing worked
Default options, disable any "extra" sound features you may have.
I'm using 16 bit, 48000 Hz (DVD-quality). I remember having this weird sound crackling and popping with WoW. Lowered the sound quality on my end, and it solved the problem.
