Event rewards should not be tied to the account you participate in

Hello,

I am really disappointed in the stairs event today.
My main account has 10 high level characters I don't want to delete, so I chose another account to create the level 1 tauren required to join the event.
When I asked the GM at the start if the price can be transfered/targeted on my main account, he said "Yes".
I then spend 40 minutes of my time and won a Murloc Costume. Some obvious trolls started to interfere with me getting the Murloc Costume on my main account and the GM started to backpaddle on his promise. So now I have the Murloc Costume on an account with only level 1 characters.

I suggest making the price transferable to other accounts, else people with 10 high level characters can't participate in events.

Guess I shouldn't have taken my troll account.
It doesn't matter if it happened or not for my suggestion. Even if I would be glad that the GM held his promise, I didn't request it to be corrected.
I just want an official statement regarding my suggestion, such that I can point towards the statement for the next event. My motives are just joining the incoming events without having to delete a level 80 character.

Too easily abuseable, would require unnecessary extra work to make sure accounts belonged to the same person, and ultimately you should use the account you want the reward with.
