Exploit Question
Hi all - I was recently banned for 2 days for exploiting. No biggie, I could have used the break. However, I sincerely have no idea what I did in order to get the ban.
From reading the rules, there is a mention of powerleveling being considered exploiting. The closest thing I've done to powerleveling was accepting an offer of a higher level person to help my twink run through RFC. There was no XP involved as I have it turned off. Is this exploiting? If so, I definitely will not repeat.
Is there anything else that folks typically do to get banned for exploiting? I just don't want to repeat it. However, it's hard to not repeat something when you truly are unsure of what it was to start.
Yes, I've opened up a ban appeal. Not sure if I will get a response after the ban has expired though.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

Never been banned myself so I don't know excatly how much they tell you when you're banned, but it seems logical to me to show the banned player exact situation/report that got him banned, to keep those players from repeating the same mistake twice.

Have you seen those messages in-game where it says "account x banned for 7d reason y"? Well, you get a message with y when you click the "my account" link and that's it.
It also seems unlikely they'll forward the proof they have to you, but hey who knows. :)

I think the staff thinks of bans similar to criminal punishment in that the objectives are deterrence, retribution, etc. I am a little worried about the deterrence piece if my microcosm is truly representative. And, from a selfish perspective I just don't want to be banned again.

Of course the objective of a ban in a videogame is punishment and deterrence. What else? Rehabilitation? They are not running a prison system.
And while your case (if true) is sad, the truth is that most players who are banned know exactly what they did.
