dynamic respawn/mining nodes on outland

The respawn rates of khorium and many other ores on outland is ridiculously low.


With an epic flyer during NA evening (eu people asleep so i have no competition), I farmed ore for like 4 hours and got a ridiculously low # of khorium. I can't remember the exact number but it was like maybe 8. 2 per hour of nonstop farming... is bonkers and its reflected on the AH. Khorium is going for ridiculous amounts and its not just because AH goblins are buying it up and hoarding it. I've also camped a node of khorium for hours and i'm lucky to be able to farm it even 1-2x every 2-3 hours. There is also a weird anti-camping dynamic where sometimes i have to fly away and as soon as i leave range it respawns and i can mine it.

Either way farming all nodes in a zone or trying to camp a node is not reasonable atm. I'd say i earn maybe 150g an hour mining (at current ah prices and ****ty drop rates), but i can earn 500 an hour herbing (mostly due to ah prices, drop rate seems pretty reasonable) or skinning.... low or high level matts.


Fel iron and adamantium don't seem to be a problem, copper/tin nodes seem to spawn a bit slow and gold seems to be just as bad as it ever was, but khorium is just really painful atm because all the players want it for swp craftables, and its not spawning at a reasonable rate.

Khorium respawn rates are so ridiculous that skilling up blacksmithing is ridiculously expensive in terms of gold or time. I might even say its impossible.

I really dont think the correct answer is to make it so scarce that more people are out their mining... i think the respawn rates need to go up so that if a player wants to actively farm all nodes in a zone they should be able to get at least 5-6 per hour every hour of solid farming. Not necessarily camping a node, but if you are actually farming, you should be rewarded. maybe add khorium as a random drop from adamantium/fel iron nodes? increase the respawn rates on khorium nodes (or the rate they randomly spawn on adamanitum nodes). Something should be done so that it is possible to obtain khorium at a reasonable rate farming.
