Yes, you need to farm the rep to equip the ring anyway
The Ring is very simple to get. Just join a ICC Rep Farm Group, don't need to kill any bosses or have any raiding skills.
em if you have other items to cap enough gs sure :p
ie, if you get eof by daily event rdf and weekly raid q, legs & hands by voa, a boe, proper icc5 hc set, friendly ring... then in two full iccs you are capped
