Items for points

Hello. Why i cant buy items for points on my mage? It says "You cannot use that item." but its cloth. Help me :D

You're probably trying to buy a priest or warlock set items.
When you hover your mouse over the item, check if it says "Classes:" and then a class name.
Or if the item has a little horde or alliance logo next to the price, you gotta pick your faction
