Hello, I have just a simple suggestion regarding the use of free action potions and living action potions in battlegrounds. These potions make pvp unbalanced and renders some classes/specs useless like rogue, prot war etc Stun and slow are some of the most powerful cc's/abilities and these overpowered potions ruin the pvp experience imo.
Suggestion: Please make a poll about this so everyone can vote yes or no for banning free action potions in battlegrounds. Thank you!
I cant agree more to this, its something that really put certain classes in disadvantage and makes the PvP really unbalanced.
There has been a few rumours that rated battlegrounds might be implemented? If so, I would love that the FAP would be banned in those battlegrounds to make it more interesting and more skillbased teamplay where CC actually matters.

Totally agree with this. PvP wise, the potions do more harm than good. People who are not BiS are in a disadvantage as it is even without the use of potions.
Please find a way to restrict them!
Agree with all my heart. These potions completely change the balance (or should I rather say destroy) between classes, making many of them useless, while making those already strong even more overpowered. Blizzard did not think much about balance when they implemented them back in vanilla and realized they are OP a little too late, nerfing them in the next expansions after wotlk. And because of their late reflexion we have to deal with those ridiculously overpowered potions.
They should be either hard nerfed (for example LaP only removing stun without further immunity, free action potion giving immunity for 5s without removing current CC) or banned (only on bgs obviously) altogether.
SM & 284 meta make pvp unbalanced not potions :3
I would like this to be implemented if there is ever gonna be rated battlegrounds in the future.
If there is gonna be rated battlegrounds in the future on Warmane, I feel this would be a good addition to make the PvP more intense and more skillwise.. Where CC's actually matters.
Sure, lets remove Human racial because it can break the CC i put on and Lichborne because i cant fear DKs as a priest and Arcane Torrent because it silences my caster and Will of the Forsaken because warlocks cant charm with their pets. Its completely unbalanced, unfair and ruining my gameplay experience.

Healing in PvP is cheating too, plis ban them.
This is the second dumbest suggestion after the 30m limit then 10m CD on playtime.
That potion does break some things, and that's why it's not usable in arenas, but many other things aren't usable in arenas. BGs aren't rated, there's no rewards, there's not ranking, anything, they're there to have fun, kill some people, win some, lose some. If you don't like it you can **** right off back to arena and shut up.
Or get some potions for yourself and rape people if it's that OP.
You really dont see a difference between a class skill or a racial which removes cc and shares cd with insignia and a potion which makes you immune to ALL HARD CC and SLOWS for the long duration of 30 seconds? With 2 min cd, making you immune for 1/4 of all the time you are on bg (add the time between fights to that and you'll find yourself on that potion every fight u participate in). I know it's all fun and games when u play bis arms or whatever faceroll class who can't give less ****s about cc'ing or not, but when your toon is based on cc'ing ur opponents (like frost mage) playing bgs against fappers is the worst thing you can imagine.Quote:

This is not about sm/284 items/racials/class skills but some people are sarcastic and use this analogy because they don't have any valid arguments. Those who don't find these potions op why do you even care to comment against removing them from bg's? I'll tell you why, because you are addicted to them and you can't play without them.
I'm not a hypocrite and i admit i use them too sometimes but I would prefer they would be removed from bg's for a better pvp experience and more fun. Some want this change, others don't. Let's see what the majority wants, that's the idea.
This thread is about PVP and the OP makes it sound like free action potion is the antichrist. I don't personally use them and I can see how they might be lowkey unfair, but let's compare the impact of Shadowmourne and FAP for a second.
FAP prevents stun and movement impairing debuffs. It does not prevent polymorph from Mages, does not prevent fear from Priests and Locks, it does not prevent Blind from Rogues, it is dispellable and doesn't work retroactively.
Shadowmourne ****s you up by mere existing, and only 3 classes can have it.
As a Lordaeron player, after three years I finally gave PVP a shot. Got my rele gear, trinkets and modest but effective daggers. I queue up a Battleground and it's 2 or 3 guys in the match on either side just about doing whatever the **** they want with SM they likely got by donating or had to put maybe half as much effort as it takes to get on Lordaeron. And they are not even ****ing up Lordaeron players exclusively, they simply dominate by sheer virtue of having picked one of 3 classes with the priviledge of wielding Shadowmourne.
When I, as envenomprep Rogue, pick a target, I quickly check their buffs and if there's a Free Action Potion there I avoid that fight. If I see the death ball that SM Unholy DK is in a Battleground, I turn 360° and moonwalk into something else for my own safety until enough people band together to put down the raid boss before he can skillfully kill us all with two spells and a half-hearted attack.
So yea, this is my opinion. If I had a list of problems for PVP sure as hell FAP wouldn't be at the top. I would address the problem that arise with the design of the server itself: we're playing in WOTLK 3.3.5a and we're going to play WOTLK 3.3.5a forever. Shadowmourne was supposed to appear very late into the expansion before slowly but surely becoming obsolete with the new expansion. This does not happen on Warmane. Shadowmournes increase in number again and again to the point of escalating the underlying issue of having few classes be eligible for using it into a twisted, one-dimensional, demorilizing pvp scene. In this context I don't give a flying **** about FAP, it was there since Vanilla and there are ways to work around it. Passing it as a terrible evil is honestly misguided and disrespectful.
It is not dispellable. And gl soft cc'ing your target with polymorph or anything like that on battlegrounds. Whole bunch of cavemen playing alongside you are just waiting to break your cc.Quote:

Do you even have an idea that shmourne alone doesn't make such difference as you try to describe it? Yes, it is bis weapon, but if you have best gear on every other slot, and have other 284 ilvl weapon the difference won't be that big. Not too long ago we had rank 1 arms/hpal with Glorenzelg. It's the whole scalling and pve offset items that make plate classes so overpowered. And now let's guess, what is harder to do: rewrite whole class balancing from scratch, making it 100% custom wotlk server, or just nerfing one small potion on bgs?
It is dispellable as it is considered a dispellable magic effect. There are only a few elixer's effects wich can't be dispelled. (Atleast it SHOULD work like this, not sure if it's currently broken but i doubt it is.)Quote:
