Im new to the server and was wondering since you level so fast, what is the best way to obtain gear/weapons to keep your dmg up as leveling?
If you're a melee class make sure you buy weapons off AH every few levels or try and run a dungeon every now and then.
Dungeons mainly, but doing quest lines are a good way to obtain gear as well. So you might wanna consider when to move to next area, and when to stay to do few quests for gear.
The item rewards before lvl 30 are sparse, so I recommend visiting AH and see if there's anything cheap.
You can level a gear crafting profession that matches your class. Make your own gear as you go and of course level a gathering profession that matches the crafting one.
I prefer to just q for dungeon and do proffesions in the down time.
But i'm just a casual who doesn't like questing much.

Super good advice. All the posts are good I like this and doing dungeons the most though. One thing that I think is if you are new you desperately need at least one gathering prof. Mining herb or skinning. I have seen countless people who take enchanting and tailoring as their first professions with a new main on a server. What a world of pain!!! lol I usually take mining and skinning just so I can get a quick flow of gold in order to buy new gear every 5-10 levels depending on the cost or quality of upgrade.
Taking BS and mining if you wear plate or mail is fine too. I never try to level any prof other than gathering ones on my first character because it can be a real gold sink and is usually a struggle and just isn't enjoyable for me. I just leveled a guy to 60 and did alot of dungeons and basically only got like 3 pieces I could use.
95% of my gear was paid for by my mining and skinning profs and came from the ah. When you hit 80 you can make alot of gold very easily with only one gathering prof. I always drop one and power level any other prof I want.
