I wanted to use a name for my character, but it showed as unavailable. Although, I've checked the armory and didn't find any character with that name.
What could be the problem?

Its likely that the name you're attempting to use is on the reserved list.
I think it takes about a month before a name can be taken after it was removed but don't quote me on that.
