AoE farming build and gear?

I got a pally tank that is around 4k now and I wanna get him to around 4.5-5k.
I was wondering what is the best AoE farming build and gear for doing solo instances?
Just pure armor/stamina and a lot of spell power?

What are the best flask/pots/elixirs etc that will speed things up?
Should one use a shield spike?

Any suggestions on how to make the runs go as fast as possible are welcome.

Normal tank build with just armor/stamina should give you enough tankiness to survive everything, heal up and do decent damage. My warrior tank can solo most of northrend dungeons on normal, pala tank can even do it better because of constant heals, block rating going higher,etc.
