Give me some information regarding scripters etc. thanks

I'm abit new to Warmane (a few months) and are really liking the PvP. It's hard, since the server have been going on for years, but my friend and I still have tons of fun climbing the ladder. More often than not we meet people in BiS gear, with our Furious gear (though we are getting there gearwise), which can be frustrating but when you than win it feels really good. We take it as a huge challenge.

Now I heard from different people that alot of people, especially Warr's, are using scripts. This kinda sucks, but I guess you still have a chance against these scripters. Though I heard that a few are using custom mods to reduce GCD and other cheats...?

I am not trying to stir any drama, I just wanna know how true this are and how many can you expect doing this? At least scripts.
In our experience we have met maybe 10-15 scripters (some of them are obvious..), but that's in like 300-400 matches so not so bad.
We did lose abit of motivation hearing about this, so someone please give us some information? Don't wanna climb the ladder, getting better and better, to just start meeting more people doing this. Thanks for your information,

I've seen a few scripters myself, is not that hard to notice. But have been really few so I don't really mind. But I don't understand why you write it's a fairy tale? All games have a few "black sheeps" nothing new. Is it because too many complains compared to the reality or?

Because Warmane has been developing their anti-cheat system since Molten days. Since it's been rebranded as Warmane I haven't seen a single one so far. It's more often than not just an addon that people label as cheat, for example the "instant interrupts" are an addon that allows you to instantly interrupt as long as you hold down the key for interrupt, something along those lines.

Or people get oneshot by the sheer amount of damage some1 can output they label him as "hacker"..

95% of the cases aren't cheats.

Pretty sûre Thorbjorn live in an isle with unicorn, fairy, rainbow,.... or how to negate the reality when even gm banned all the top ladder player for that. (you can find screenshot about that that in the threat call"normal player can't[]" on general, bg, page 3 or 4. This threat answer your questions too)

Anti-cheat system are egual to zero. Even on retail, when wotlk, cata was on, script became a really big matter. That why blizzard develop a new anti-cheat, script system.
So if blizzard failed with many dev and $$, how a private server can make it with a custom base? (the answer is: impossible)

There are script, there'll be. War is one of the top class for script, but all class are touch.

Addons such as this would classify as a cheat as there are no LUA functions that allow the checking and execution based on casts, certainly not actions that trigger as soon as someone casts because you are holding a key down, to make addons such as this work people would need to write it with unprotected LUA functions in combination with a LUA unlocker. Plenty of people have been banned for this since 2018 and people are still being banned for scripting to this day even, it will never get fully fixed I think, rather kept in control with hotfixes and seasonal bans (I guess).

I do agree that people blame others for cheating too often tho, atleast nowadays.

Based on what I've seen the situation with cheating is far better than it used to be. I remember in 2018 stuff was completely out of control, keyboard turners and backpedalers AMSing every instant CC, every priest doing perfect SWD's on poly's, warriors imediately going to defensive stance to disarm (even if they were behind a pillar/not in your range) it was so stupid it wasn't even funny lmao. Luckily there were big banwaves since then that stopped most of it.

All in all this behaviour is so noticable it gets easier to play against since stuff gets very predictable, that's why they call it "scripting" afterall :)

In short: yes there are cheaters, yes it is a big problem.

While climbing the ladder cheaters become more and more common. At high rating you can meet them in 3-4 games out of 10.

Cheats vary from instant kick scripts, instant reflects, GCD hack (common on war this...), immunity to knock backs, almost immunity to back attack like shred and backstab (literally out of range unless 1 cm from their back), to more complex things like auto-pilot system which does the best rotation possible and instant react to everything, the player just have to move the character with wasd.

Most cheaters are from blackrock, because even if they get banned they can return istantly with a new account/char ready for arenas.

The reason why was stated in the Infraction you got from Arbiterone. If you have an issue with it, discuss it in PMs with him. Bringing it up like this is very similar to what got him moderating your post in the first place, just so you keep that in mind.
