Partial Resists on bosses and boss training dummy

I've recently levelled a priest and gone shadow for alt runs etc, and I've noticed in Naxx and on the training dummy my combat log is reading

"XXX's Devouring Plague hits Heroic Training Dummy for 677 Shadow (169 Resisted)"

This is on the Frostmourne server, has anyone else experienced anything similar?

This is with 3/3 Misery on target and 3/3 Shadow Focus and 342 Spell hit giving me 19% spell hit (From what I've read well over the cap)

spell hit has nothing to do with it being resisted.

You do HIT the dummy with your spell don't you? :-)
