Reverting the Custom Warmane Drop-rates on Legendary Fragments, on Lordaeron.

It's quite obvious that:

Valanyr and Shadowmourne Fragments have a MUCH, MUCH lower drop chance than retail and this is most likely due to the fact that valanyr is an expensive purchaseable item. Obviously that's all fine and dandy as you can just whip out the credit card if you don't want to spend the time farming for them. I don't mind buying it with coins myself. But unfortunately there's absolutely no option like this on Lordaeron.

On Lordaeron the extremely low drop rate makes the farming for these legendaries dreadful and ridiculously bad burnout. Not only do you have to suffer through the drop of 50 fragments for shadowmourne having cleared all content over and over, you have to deal with custom drop rates being at around 5-10% normal and 11-20% on heroic instead of the 25-50% and heroics being 51-99%. Yes I came up with those percentages out of my *** and/or personal experiences, but through the experiences of many different guilds and players over the years I've found that the fragments range in those areas for those difficulties.

Retail had about a year, year and a half and then every single cata weapon was better than both shadowmourne AND val'anyr.
Here, you have an infinite amount of time to get the pieces. Realms won't move on to the next expansion, your progress won't be wiped, just push through it.
Even if the chance is much lower, it's still very reasonable. Considering once you get your SM it'll stay bis for 10 years, not a few months like on retail.

Farming Shadowmourne takes about 3~4 months when you do full clears every week on Lordaeron. That's not too bad.

Ofc it's starting to become a ridicioulus grind if you only pug 3/12 a week. But that is to be expected. You're not supposed to obtain Shadowmourne w/o at least having a guild clearing Sindragosa each week.

So it's either you not wanting to accept that cheesing the grind isn't as easy as you thought it to be, or you're tired of hc icc. the latter is rather rare, since bis-toons aren't that common on lordaeron.

Yeah but you guys don't address the fact that the drop rate is in fact much, much lower and the grind does take a significant amount of time as-is.

Valanyr full run w/o yogg droping 2 fragments in 2 weeks is ridiculous.
Shadowmourne dropping 0 fragments after 18 bosses is ridiculous.

Regardless of doing 3/12 runs cause you assume I'm a noob that doesn't get 9+ bosses (which I do) the drop rate is low.
Heroic gunship never drops one, hc marrowgar/saurfang don't drop, rotface/vali don't etc

My guild group clears 12/12 with 7hc (new progress is 8hc) and after 2 months, our shadowmourne warrior is at 27 shadowfrost shards. That's comically low, and it's all ****ty droprates with part RNG.

We get consistently around 2 to 5 shard per run. Doing 9 HCs. Lordaeron.

9+ bosses is, to be honest, terrible. Means your guild isn't actually clearing sindra? Bought Infusions somewhere and now you complain that you're not farming at the speed of light?

LK is a safe shard and on average makes up for about 1/4 of total shards farmed. Farming nh and the "free/easy heroics" like vali, ship and dbs don't help much either.

So you got 8 LK Shards and 19 random drops, whicht averages 3.375 shards a run. That's actually decent droprate. Like I said - 3~4 months are not uncommon, esp. the later bosses on heroic tend to make up for quite a few drops. Friend of mine took almost half a year.

Even farming 11/12 hc a week doesn't mean you'll end up having lk-shard-only runs not too rarely. Still mourne is extremely common nowadays since it's "to keep forever". Flooding the server with a mourne every months with retail droprates makes it even more ridicioulus.

actually we started with 5 a week or so for the first while... then went down to 1-2 more recently

As for my personal farm I went from a constant 12/12 w 6 hc (I was getting only 2 shards first week, 0 the 2nd, 1 the 3rd, 1 the 4th and 0 the 5th week) to 6/12 runs (1hc) and I've gotten only 1 since I started this 4 months ago. I'm sitting at 5 total and it's quite depressing. I'm helping the 2nd core out and collecting whatever random shard drops there but it's still quite depressing not getting shards for shadowmourne.

And for valanyr, explain how I'm being silly there????

I observe that clearing 12/12 hc fastest shadowmourne was 13 weeks, usual 16-20 weeks. Should be 7-9 weeks from 12/12 hc clears. + RNG ofcoarse, it's obvious that rates are lowered, but I think that's a good thing for everyone.

Maybe ppl can share their fastest shadowmournes?

I didnt assume anything so far. I gave two options - being tired of farming icc hc or trying to cheese it. You threw in stuff like me assuming you're a noob. Never said anything like that. I just said that 12/12 is pretty much a must and should be a given when you farm mourne, since any raid that is able to clear the questline is able to down lk, which is one safe shard at least. And that shard is pretty important in the long run.

How do you get 0 shards with 12/12 clears? LK is a 100% drop.

Like I said - 6/12 is pretty much trying to cheese it. Try to assemble a proper raid or go G1. No idea why you're surprised drops are bad when you leave the safe shard and half the raid uncleared.

@angrylol: My Mourne took 14 weeks. Last mourne we farmed on lorda took ~17, current one is at 40 and ~10 weeks. 11/12 hc clears. Fastest mourne I heard about been 9 weeks, slowest ~22 weeks.
