We have noticed some problems when accessing warmane via starlink - latency will spike really high but only in the game when real latency is like 30ms. it shows like 1500 in game and hesitates but usually recovers. Could be a confused routing issue or somesuch? Had a similar problem in ut2004 but the server staff was able to correct it - it wasn't seeing the range of starlink routes correctly.

What is "real latency"? The latency from your computer to what?
Unlike ut2004, Warmane has one (or a few) server in one location, there's probably nothing they can do about it. The fact that starlink hops to god knows where then back down to France (iirc). It's very likely that there isn't a starlink earh host (how do you call these things) in France and it's still hopping through tons of cables down on earth.
