Did you log in-game or just on the website? It's possible they just had their names removed because of name cleanup so you can't find them on the website. You'll have to log in game and pick a new name.
If they aren't there (in-game) then do the following:
check here for IPs that aren't yours: https://www.warmane.com/account/history to find out if someone broke into your account.
navigate to the character restoration service here: https://www.warmane.com/account/services and see if you can restore any.
