Character faction change

Hey,

I'm looking to maybe change my character from a faction.
But I don't understand 100% how this works.
Is there an info page on how this exactly works?

Because I wonder what Items get transferred and what not.
Also can I change the looks of the character?
Does the transfer happens first or after you chose your character?

yes, during "faction change" process you will be able to set a new look for your character.
You will keep every item.
Some items, race-mount and race-reputation will be converted into their equivalent of the new faction.
