First time posting.
I logged into my account after inactivity for some time. I noticed my characters were all there, except for one which I maybe deleted(?). But they don't have their names anymore and I cannot play them. I see all their items on them, like the scaling for levelling items, etc.
I don't know how to recover them, or what happened. I can play new characters, though.
you have problem to log-in with "unnamed" characters?
Delete "Cache" folder (inside WoW folder)
Then keep attempting to log them, till u success
Deleting the cache didn't help. They still have no name and cannot be logged in. Would re-downloading the game potentially solve the issue?
Everything looks normal, I can see the character. It tells me their location and level. They just have no name. But the new character I made is completely playable and named.
edit: I went into the "WTF" folder and I saw my character names as folders, updated july 2019. Is it possible that it's been too long and something happened?
what error message do you get when trying to login?
Does it ask to set a new name anytime you try ?
WTF contains settings, you can sure try to move it away somewhere and let the game generate new one, see if you can log then. (unlikely will help)
Sounds like your characters are tagged for rename and your game doesnt pop the box to put a new name in.
What happens when you try to log in any of those unnamed characters? Your game crashes? Nothing? Grey button? ..?
Oh, well. I forgot what the error message it was so I had to click a few times and eventually it asked for a rename. Sorry I didn't think to keep repeatedly trying after six or so attempts!
