Hello
I played for a long time on warmane, I decided a few week ago to totaly stop because I was not able to control my gaming time. I gave all my gold to friends, deleted item and character
but i'm still addicted, I still want to play this game :(
HAve you guys already felt addicted by this game? Did u decide to stop? Try to control your gaming time?
Hey, i don't think deleting your chars is the answer to this. i think its quite the opposite. beat the game, reach end game, then the game becomes quite boring and naturally you will stop playing.

Another thing: talk with someone about this. Talking is really helpful, it's going to help you bringing out your own thoughts, shape them in a real form, letting them pour out from a possibly overcluttered environment.
I'm now working a second job, so more than ever, I'm now hard pressed to find the time to play even if I wanted to.
Even so, just remember. Nobody really quits WoW. They just take long *** breaks.

There is no such thing as addiction.
Decided to try here today, but actually kind of skeptical of giving this server a try for multiboxing because of others perspective on how this game takes away from their life.
Here are a few ways to get off that WoW Addiction that worked for me:
1) There was one person I know who got bored after getting fully geared. They kind of "Completed" the Game so found no point in continueing
2) Get to the realization you have importent matters such as getting a GF, Job, Life, Children to concern yourself with WoW.
3) At the end of time, all Servers will die, so in theory your wasting your time no matter what happens in the game.
4) Go Fishing or something and think deeply about your life and what you could be doing instead
5) This may sound hilarious, but a YouTuber that got IP Banned for staff disrespect from this Server said it broke their addiction.

There was a rich multibox who claimed to own a large portion of manufacturing in detroit and made a ton on the GameStop stocks who made YouTube videos about some grubashi arena competition and fishing were the winner got a large sum of coins daily for the entire frostmourne season 2 with the net being around 600,000 coins. I couldn't imagine spending money on a private server like that, but monopoly winners have proven there are many dumbasses out there.
Days before the start of frostmourne s2, she claimed to have gotten IP banned in-game from a forum mod. Her and another boxer in the household were complaining that some 5-limit feature was flagging them when they boxed close together and showed a YT of the flag going off when they were near then the mod went off on them claiming they were trying to "Trick" her by showing the flag doesn't work cause there are clearly more than 5 then banned them for troll attempt and talking about changing IPs to prevent the flag.
Going on to the point of this thread anyways, she said something very interesting.
"The real cost was me not wasting half a million on a game, and the benefit was getting my life back. It's in reality a waste of time and money, but played on Warmane all day every day and felt so numb, dump and depressed couldn't think right.
Going to spend it and then some on my future wife, future children, their education, nice Houses in Florida, Colorado, Michigan, retirement, more investing, and bringing them to Disney World, Universal, SeaWorld, Several Disney Cruises, Colorado Snowboarding, a Yacht, Pool Parties, and basically living life to the fullest =)
In all Seriousness, getting a Perm Ban is a reward while a Temp Ban sucks after experiencing both. It's like you want to Quit Smoking but your too addicted to ciggerates, and the Government Bans them for you. If it was a Temp one you get back to Smoking.
Once your off, your a much happier person, and can freely do anything without feeling the urge that you have to "check up" on WoW in the same way people have social media addictions. You will focus on stuff that increases your quality of life and get you were you want to be in the future instead of having it ruined from video game addiction. Finally joined the GYM, Lifetime Fitness and have a army of fitness Trainers that focuses of Yoga, Weight Lifting, Endurance, Stamina, Simple Gymnastics, and Diet, already lost over 12 pounds feel much more alive."
This actually got me so hard that now I am questioning if I should play here. Between setting up my set, and leveling, so much time flies by.

b) Another Interesting Story I found is from a Classic WoW player.
He said that the game feels like work or a job with no real reward. Everything you do is based on growing your character and making it stronger. On top of that, its the social aspect and bonding with the people you meet that keep you hooked. It's not as hard to break the addiction as you think it is, you just need to find better things to focus on.

c) This one is about quitting gaming, and not WoW in Particular.
It's not wasted time if you enjoy it, but I often use it to escape my IRL responibilities. As we got older, our enjoyement of the video games have decreased because we get so used to the mechanicals to the extent we ask were did all the good games go. I will play games due to peer pressure from friends that game, and just did it for the sake of doing it although I didn't enjoy it. It.
I quit video games because life sat a fire under my ***. I played games in my free time. I got fired, and was forced into bigger situations of what to do. A game means nothing if you are going to lose your car, how you are going to buy food, etc. I can't trade gold for payments. I focused on what I did in games put applied it to real life. My time in the game can be used to explore the real world, get educated, learn a skill, programming, but overall your in someone else universe in games instead of yours. Growing in real life economically is you yourself growing unlike video games. Games are great, but sometimes you are not enjoying them but continue to play due to addiction. WoW in particular is a a great example of such that.

Overall, if you are finding yourself NOT enjoying WoW, but know your addicted (and treat it as a job) due to peer pressure, social, character growth and such, you need to step back and think hard on what your next step should be for your long term benefit and what you want to accomplish.
Get another addiction..
I used to play when I was a kid (from 14yrs mby), from 4PM to 3AM almost every day.. spend most of my free time.. that was hard time to concentrate and study after 3 hours of sleep (even less in weekends)..
Everything changed when I became "adult" (18yrs old).. I started working at night after school to get a drivers license, and shortly after that I bougth my first car, and understood that girlfriend isn't just a pokemon.. (2 years of work, finishing my studies, etc).. I was 20.. Warmane just started.. 2015-2016.. (came from Molten-WoW BTW) after that, I wasn't playing for like 4 years.. almost 5.. it's nostalgic to go online, do a RDF, or running around for achievements for 1 hour a day, or code some lines in my addon pack, but it'll become boring after I pass the 1 hour mark..
Now I'm 26, and addicted to cars.. Not rly better than gaming, a bit more expensive, but you can learn how to be creative, learn to work on real things, etc..
This is my "life-story" and opinion about wow addiction..
If you consider that you are suffering from an addiction you should visit a specialist instead of asking for advice here. In the same way that when your car breaks you bring it to the mechanic, when something isn't right with you, you should go to the specific "mechanic" for that issue. If in this case we talk about an addiction, a psychologist could be a good start.
Get a job.
Even if im addicted...i gotta leave it even if its for a while... cuz i got bills to pay! :D
