I'm a semi new player to wow and was wondering if I should roll on Icecrown?

A lot of the people there have very big item levels. If I go in now fresh will I have a chance of raiding and getting good gear?

You will have great time if you know/learn your spec and raids. Guilds are looking for capable players who show up for raids on time.

Owl druid, also known as boomkin, is relatively easy class. It's also on slight demand as RDPS. Good pick.

due to the large ammount of newbies (people that dont care about tactics or to read up on boss tactics) the gearscore limit for raids are kinda high though, there are raids that make exeptions for this though so don't throw in the towel on the first global LFM post you se, but to make it a whole lot easier get yourself a casual raiding guild to help you on the gearing journey.

I started on Icecrown about month ago. So far ive enjoyed playing and have no regrets. Might be quite hard to get into raids later on but not impossible, other than that its fine

For a second there I read there 'ban voyage'.

Came to the forum to post about my experience as i delete Warmane from my PC, instead i found this post.

If you like being ganked, over and over and over.... and over then this is the place for you.

I have been playing this game for 17 years and never in those 17 years have i been ganked so much and so often.

I've played far less than you. I've probably leveled more alts than years you have played, but I'm almost certain I've been ganked less than 17 times in total while leveling characters.

Most of the ganking happens in popular leveling zones such as stranglethorn, tanaris or hellfire peninsula.
The XP rates are so high on Icecrown that you can avoid these zones and level instead on a less crowded location.
