Unable to log in. "A character with that name already exists"

Logged out in Zangarmarsh and now can't log back in. Every time I try to log in, the loading screen bar fills up then I get kicked back to the character screen with "A character with that name already exists" pops up. Help

Im getting the same error..

I have the same problem. I wanted to log to my alt and i got the message "The name already exists".
Closed and started wow again but no difference.

Happening here as well.

Update: Fixed itself on its own.
