Gryphon 330% fly speed in Icecrown quest

I would like to ask a question about a quest item people are using for mining and herbing in Icecrown. Its about a Gryphon in Icecrown, Northrend. I see people flying around on this Gryphon that have higher fly speed than the usual 280%. Is it allowed to use this quest item Gryphon or is it tolerated as a bug? I guess it was a thing back in the real WOTLK days, but yea idk. Should i farm it out and use this mechanic as well, or will people get punished for abusing this quest item as flying mount?

I remember on warmane is faster than it should be.

Do you remember the name of the item? I remember on wowhead comment is explained pretty well how it should work.
So just need to make a proper report to let devs fix it.

I asked the GMs about this mount last year, and this was their response:

Though, I don't think anyone would report you if you decide to use it. From what I've heard, some of the bans are case-by-case. Different GMs will have a different view on some situations.
