Blood dk dps OP with bis gear?

How OP and amazing is it to do retail-like dps with blood dk dps?

That burst with Dancing Rune Weapon + all those death strikes at the start of the fight + blood worms damage + heart strike damage OOOO BABY

oh wait.....

This thread is to discuss thoughts on Blood DK dps and how you enjoy it, even though we know D-R-W will likely never be fixed and blood dps will never be viable while it's primary talent DRW is bugged to high hell.

I gotta admit, the damage is ok, and the spec is really fun regardless of it being bugged and unviable

They will not fix it because DRW was bugged in retail, it has numerous of problems from the start. Blood got gutted on toc patch with heart strike and rune weapon nerf + the need of using glyph for drw. The damage of rune weapon was never fixed. Also the 50% reduced damage doesn't propably mean 50% of damage. The scaling of drw seems to be fixed in cata however I couldnt't find any information of it. Im linking 2 retail videos to proof it. Actually on warmane drw is doing more damage than it was on retail with strike and less with autoattacks. However we can see in cata strikes scaling is fixed and drw actually hits big numbers with death strike.

Cataclysm, patch 4.3.4 in video the guy used rune weapon many times, you can see his attack power on the ui.

Wotlk retail video, you can see the damage difference. The autoaottacks seems really powerful (but well faerie fire+ sunder armor+ debuffs+ maybe a shattering throw) but the strikes seems to have no scale while cata rune weapon seems to scale with everything.

In short we need to wait for wrath beta and just discuss it with blizzard, but I doesn't think they will care about it sadly.

He has mastery.....
That's why he does more damage in cata.
DRW is supposed to do literally the same damage/skills/everything as the dk itself, but 50% damage. So death-strike hits for 25k, DRW will copy it and do 12.5k, thus increasing that damage to 37.5k (numbers not to scale)

Vengeance only increase his attack power (mastery for blood is blood shield which gives absorption only) and he summon drw many times in a video with almost the same ap as the retail vid, DRW doesn't work that way, DRW snapshot ur stats it takes ur damage from the character sheet label attack power and hit,haste,crit and snapshot buffs/debuffs (it's confirmed bql bite increase drw damage by logs).

However I'm pretty sure there drw weren't snapshotting some talents/glyphs/buffs like icc buff in wrath at least not for strikes.
DRW has his own entity it can crit when you don't crit etc. Rune weapon can actually can do more than 50% dmg than you.
ARPen propably doesn't work with DRW sadly. However there are some lags that are convincing me that there was something buggy with DRW like this : ( there are death coils from sudden doom proc)

There are also proofs that drw could spread diseases with pestilence with glyph however it wasn't always.

DRW did more dmg in retail than sims model it to be, its blizzlike dmg on warmane (7-10% of total)

DRW used to cast its own deathcharger mount when you mounted up with it
if you had 2+ targets and used Pestilence while you had own diseases on target and DRW active, DRW added its own diseases and then spread both of them to all nearby mobs
But if you only had 1 target, pestilence only refreshed your own diseases and spread them to others nearby and DRW did nothing

it was really ****ed in retail too as u can see from SS
