Yes it was toxic. Yes the guilds were worthless. But it was fun and gave life to the game, especially in the low levels where having a good guild was pointless. I had endless laughs in guilds like these in the old days despite their "worthlessness". People can just block the mass inviter so there's no spam issue. I think the 1k people restriction was enough, no reason to give the /ginvite command a cooldown. The game needs more laughs and those guilds made it happen.
afair the limit was added because a certain guild whose name I dare not utter had so many members in it that it was dangerously increasing the server load.
I'm not talking about the 1k limit, I'm talking about the /ginvite cooldown that was implemented last year
Why don't you just join some "fresh and friendly social guild" from global? From a sane person's PoV, they had to spend 5-10 minutes ignoring people mass spamming guild invites that they received on level one in a starting area before they could start playing in peace.
This alone is enough to give it a no as far as I'm concerned.Quote:

I was very annoyed by the amount of ginvites I am getting from people randomly. Sometimes it is from the same guild over and over like every 10 seconds! I dont like randoms inviting me before asking if I wish to join them.
I had to block ginvites because of the spam. I don’t think it’s a good idea to allow it.
I would never join a guild who sends out random invites. It just shows laziness.
