It may be because of one of your addons.
I got a 16 gb ram Geforce RTX 2080 Endless fps in openworld and then whenever I step my foot in dalaran then straight down to 40-50 fps, I depends what your doing in game to make the fps drop.
Reducing view distance is cheap trick to boost FPS.
Just disscovered its because Gear Score addon
