Question about selling character

I have many character or Lord and i decided to sell one of them to boost a character on icecrown. I never sold anyone before.

When i try to sell , it says i require a minimum of 5 coins.

I want to know , if i purchase those 5 coins, are those 5 coins lost as soon as i put a character for sell ? Or they are just a requirement to be able to sell a character ?

it's a tax you pay out of coins you receive when character is sold. Putting character up for sale costs nothing.

But if my character don t sell , am I refunded the 5 coins ?
