I play on lordaeron and I notice that the coin shop actually works for that server too, so does that make it possible for people to farm gold ingame and sell for real life cash? If so, how would that work? I make a decent amount of gold just for fun in my spare time, it'd be cool to sell a bit once in a while, no botting ofc.

Only official Warmane website which allows donations can be used to purchase services via Coins or Points. We don't use other sites, forums, chats (Discord) and we don't offer free Coins on random websites because a fake said so. We don't allow any trade of virtual goods for real money be it through forum, chats, game or via 3rd party softwares.
It isn't mentioned there, but it's punished with a non-appealable permanent ban, so yeah.
