Hi i have searched this forum but i dont find any information about ProtPala pvp, i've seen many prot palas in top of soloq ladder. Not talking about the protret but fully prot talented palas, seen quite a few with low resi around 400-500.
Seems like a very bursty spec, often topping dps in soloq arenas. Is it viable in 2s and 3s? And how does it differ against the protret spec?
Prot is viable but not top tier in arena.
It performs good with rsham or Dpriest in 2s and Hunter+Dpriest in 3s.
Playstyle is very different compared to preg paly. Preg paly is a healer/dps hybrid who spams mostly flash heal while dealing a fair amount of dmg. Prot is a pure dmg spec with no support utilities beside hof and hop.
All in all it can be said that preg is overall the better spec for arena. Prot is decent but not top tier.
the 3 paladin in top solo q and top 2s are played by the same person so, also prot counter preg. The best thing u can do is playing all spec and switching when you know what you play against. When u play vs full melee go prot, when u play vs mele caster go preg, etc.
