Can anyone tell me how you can get chased on a flying mount and killed in mid air? A Human Warlock cast dots on me and I started to fly away and somehow he can catch up and recast the dots multiple times high in the air. So annoying, I'm just trying to do my dailies and he has nothing better to do than camp at questing areas and make trouble.
Correction the bastard was a Human Shadow Priest.
I have been ganked by undead rogue with parachute severeal times in helfire peninsula lvl 80 i asume, sad thing is they dont stop even if they kill u once.
Their mount is probably faster than yours that's why they can catch up. And yea it is annoying ;( One thing you could do is keep dps-ing them with your instant dmg spells so that way you both free fall and die. Silence them before they hit the ground while still spamming your instant dmg spells to make sure they can't levitate.
The thing is, I don't even think he dismounted. I was on my mount, started getting hit so I flew up high thinking he couldn't hit me. Then while looking right at him I started getting damaged again so I started to fly away and I continued to get hit. I mean I am a mage so kinda squishy, but a shadow priest shouldn't be able to kill me with one or two dots right?
Depends on your level/gear, but yes, it's perfectly possible.

Geared shadow priest can easily kill even plate guys (who are known for highest HP pool) except for tanks just by using 3 instant spells: Devouring Plague > Shadow Word - Pain > Shadow Word - Death.
Generally, even if silenced it won't help because (far as I understand it) silencing doesn't prevent engineering parachute cloak from being able to be activated. This is usually how they are able to kill you mid air without dying themselves. If you fly high enough though, the parachute runs out long before they hit the ground so they won't attack you anymore.

You can activate it at any point until you hit the ground.
I main an affli lock and I do this quite often. In short, nothing can save you. Try to survive the initial dots, then follow the player to the ground and beat them 1v1. That's your best chance of stopping it.
When this was first happened to me, I'm like: "That was so cool!" Immediately, I made an affliction lock. HAHAHA!
Exactly the same reason I made a shadow priest ten years ago: I saw one guy on booty bay on top of a pole dotting every low level character he saw.Quote:
