Rolling at the end of raids

Hi, since this seems to be happening often in pug-raids: raid leaders are rolling the loot after the raid ends, sometimes they dont check if the item still is tradeable.

Is this to be announced at the beginning of the raid or in the search post? Because one could assume standard is what the game is offering (so loot at the boss) when not told otherwise (like reserved and so on). I could not find any information on the forum regarding this specific topic, only that you could leave such raid.

When people demand to roll the loot, most of the time it is denied for whatever reason. For example when i have to leave (after 3 1/2 hours), i got the loot denied and left therefore. My report was of course not of "positive" outcome.

The last raid, the leader was not responding to the questions to roll the gear, then said we will roll, did nothing and then continued to not respond. I left and file a report.

I mention this, because you have no chance to protect yourself from this when the first boss is dead.

What my suggestion is: this should be mandatory to be mentioned, so as a player i can exclude this raids the same as i do when loot is reserved or certain achieves are asked for.

I would appreaciate different answers than: "it's your own fault" or "not my problem" , thanks!

You'll get fancy worded messages that pretty much boil down to those two options.

PUG's are bad, and only unifying rules are the ones against ninjas (and other in-game rules).

PUG's can be set up differently, and what happens in PUG X, doesn't mean PUG Y will be the same. Loot rules of X are different from Y. Loot rules are always different based on how RL makes them.

The holding of loot is within rules. Although it can be seen as scummy practice, leaving after 4 bosses when loot you wanted is rolled isn't exactly nice either. It's a simple way to keep players clearing the bosses so that the raids don't end too early. If people wouldn't be so selfish and self-centered in general what comes to looting, this wouldn't be ever needed. But since it's a PUG and you hold no attachments to any of its players, only thing you focus on is the potential loot for YOU. Those poor leaders who have to deal with this have come up with this system to have better chances at proper raid.

Thanks for the reply, this was what i was asking for. I understand the issue. They way i handle it when i lead raids is i announce when the loot will be rolled before the first boss is started. I use after each quarter most of the time and i never had issues with people leaving earlier than they would do no matter the loot distribution. But that is just my experience.

Where i have a problem is that when i ask for it to be rolled because i have to go, i get the loot i "worked" for denied. There was not 1 item rolled after 9 bosses of ICC.

Maybe i am just a little bit too "this is just a game" in my mind.

The reason why almost all raid leaders hold the loot until all bosses are cleared is exactly so players would stay for the whole raid. You shouldn't be joining raids you don't intend to finish. People join raids to kill all the bosses and when few people leave early it sometimes makes it impossible to finish the raid since finding replacements is not easy. Hence raid leaders hold loot discouraging people from leaving and also discouraging people from joining if they intend to leave early. You can ask raid leaders if the loot will be rolled as soon as the boss is dead but from my experience in pugs which are mostly toc 25nm runs and icc 25 8/12 hc runs in 99% of the cases loot is rolled at the end.
