WoW client downloading unwanted data when logging on Lordaeron
So today while playing on Lordaeron I've notice some minor lag spikes so I went to check on the Windows Task Manager and I've noticed that wow.exe was downloading stuff while I was playing and that was not the usual minor data exchange between server and client. I have a screenshot down here:

As you can see it's a constant stream of data that average something like 400 Kbps and that's at least 10 times higher than the average packet of data that this game client would normally download and most importantly it wouldn't be a constant stream of data but it would alternate and it would jump from 0 to 100 Kbps at most. Keep in mind that in this screenshot I left the global chat and my character was located in a mostly isolated zone where there was basically nobody else around. That amount of data stream is completely anomalous.
I've noticed that the client starts to download stuff only after I login into the game world, so I can launch the client and it's perfectly fine until the character selection screen, but as soon my character is loaded into the game world it starts to download stuff. So my guess is that it's something server sided and I'm wondering what kind of data is been downloaded here.
Just to clarify I don't use any addon at all, the client I'm using is the same I've used forever and I installed it directly from my physical copy of the game. I'm not playing on any other private server, I've only ever played on Lordaeron. I've been playing on Lordaeron on and off for years using the same client and I've never had this sort of issue.
Is anybody else having this problem? I don't really feel comfortable playing on this server anymore unless somebody can explain me what's going on. Could it be related to the new Onyxia realm? Even though I've never logged on any other realm other than Lordaeron.
Any clarification would be mostly appreciated.
