Is mass multilogging allowed?

Let me just start with some background. I farm herbs to make pots & ores to sell. I started in icecrown. It was very good there, lots of bots, but still very good. PvP was insane, there was even an insane horde farmer there that instantly logs his full pve hunter alt if you ever farm near him so he can kill you, like a smurf protecting his little village. It was still good even then. One day I noticed 1 crap-geared mage, afk all the time in the air. I didn't know what he wanted. He was there for a week before i realised he was afk-farming. He would just fly down and pick something up and fly back in the air to afk. I thought "meh ok that's just 1 guy, i still have the whole rest of the map", but then he brought a druid alt and camped it a little further beside his mage. It doesn't matter if you kill him because (seriously) if you kill him nonstop for 2 hours he will constantly take res sickness and fly back to his spot. This is not a bot, it's an actual player.

So 3 months ago I moved to farming in sholazar. Yes there were lots of bots but these bots gradually get banned so it's okay. Sholazar is worse than stv, hellfire and tanaris combined. Idk why so many freaks gather there so we're always fighting each other. It's been about a month now I've noticed this guy that was in icecrown, he moved to sholazar. He has 2 horde druids constantly parked at the gorilla spot in southeast. He switches too his ally shaman & druid depending on whos killing him too much. He has a mage & another druid parked northwest corner. 2 Paladins parked directly south near the un goro portal. Finally (that I've noticed) he has an ally druid constantly parked near nesingwary right up against a tree, and he switches to his horde pala there depending on which of his alts is being killed too much.

All those crazy PvPers with brain damage in sholazar (including this crazy hunter & paladin), even they have started to whisper me how they feel about these multilogging afk-farmers. It's much worse than farming with 20 bots flying around. They make it close to getting nothing even if you yourself resort to afk-farming (serious). Even then they still drain the whole zone because sure you might be hogging his 1 spot, but he has alt-tab chars parked everywhere else. I'd take competing with 20 bots in 1 map over 2 of these multiloggers any day.

I consider myself a hardcore farmer but I am close to abandoning herbalism & mining altogether now. Multiboxing is limited to 5 toons I believe. This guy has 10 that I can remember, and to make it worse he isn't even the only one doing that in sholazar. Is this even allowed?

I don't know man but your description makes it sound like he is botting. Its possible to use bot software to just park at an specific area then only move when it detects minerals or herbs around. Try reporting them or better yet, don't stop killing them. I just find it weird that somebody's gonna open several wow and stay and watch 5 windows then he manually switches windows to gather when ore or herb respawns. You can still open several wow, more than 10 in the open world in one network but only 5 on the same zone. I can still multibox with my brother playing but I don't allow him to go to Wintergrasp because one of my slaves will be disconnected.

No man he isn't botting. Trust me his actions are all too human XD if I really had to describe then it's the all too human imperfect pattern of flying, panicking & running away in a way that makes sense, never parking at the exact same spot, it's just not botting. What he does is he opens 10 alts, alt-tabs through all of them and moves when something spawns, then flies back up to his spot. He does that instead of using 1 char to fly around the whole map. Yesterday I tried killing him for 2 hours but he just doesn't give up and it ofc wastes my time. After killing him enough he will log his alliance alts to camp the same spots, so what I do is I just fly to other spots where he camps with his horde chars and I kill those. Rinse & repeat it never ends. He's there nearly 24 hours. I'm talking about 8 in the morning china time to 3 in the morning (I'm just assuming his time zone coz some of his chars names are chinese sounding).

Since you're sure it's not a bot because of the character's reactions...How are you sure it's a single person multiboxing...and not a multiple people choosing the same boring method to farm while staying within the 5-account multiboxing limit? From my understanding, the server closely tracks how many people are logged in from a single connection, and if it goes over the limit, alarms go out to all staff on duty to take care of it.

The biggest flag seems to be the 24/7 playtime...if that's not a bot (even if a player is monitoring it most of the time), that's certainly account sharing.

Unfortunately the only thing you can really do is use the in-game GM ticket to report suspect behavior.

The closest I can come to answering your question is how I teamed up with people who noticed this guy doing this. We split up, and his alts never move when he is trying to run away on one of them :( yea....I guess I'll try to make a ticket, but this just seems to be way harder to investigate compared to bots

me and my preg buddy farmed those characters religiously back then, cz sholazar is the only map with adder's tongue which is the most expensive herb besides lichbloom, and unlike lichblooms spot adder's nodes are kinda always on the same spots. thats why he/they park there.
it is allowed as long as he/they dont use any bot program, but yeah 8am to 3am farming is kinda sus. i might come to sholazar again to pay them a visit lol.

Dude come visit it's all over the map. Near the avalanche where there is like a forsaken camp there are 2. At Nesingwary camp there is one. At that little stream+waterfall west of the big lake north of swindlegrin's dig there is 1. Like 20 yards north of there there's another, then at that little creature camp in the northwest corner there is another one parked. Near the un goro portal there are 2. At the wasp hive there is 1, at the gorilla spot there are 2 more. I've seen some religious farmers resorting to camping spots because of these guys, like that one nice bis tauren boomi who is never looking to stir trouble (u know the one). And these chars all have alts so that when you kill them over 10x they just switch to their ally alts and confidently park right in front of u lol

yeap, its confirmed they're still there lmao. been killing them, they have characters on both sides, if i camp 1 node as ally, the log their ally alt to take the node lmao. they're all naked, so they take sickness without hesitation.

hahah yea there are bis chars too but they dont take res sickness and they don't res as much because of that, and more likely to logout. But for these ones I think it's a different player. All I do is apply 1 devouring plague and justs fly back up to do that to the other ones parked there, but it's ofc time consuming if they don't ever give up XD unless I'm a fresh 80 priest in desperate need of honor points

I found them and have been farming them relentlessly. Thank you for the new fun.

I would be cautious about farming bots that don't fight back because it can look like honor exploiting.

you sound so sus lol

he actually has a point tho, but i dont think warmane cant tell the difference between honor exploiting and griefing bots. besides farming bots for honor isnt that much effective as doing actual pvp like bg/wg if u're into hk/points.

I'm killing them in the air while they have Rez Sickness. I don't have anything to worry about.

Pffff nothing new. i would do the same strategy for other reasons (using many alts to avoid circling a map)
