Can't access realm

Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me with an issue I'm having when logging in. I'm playing on WotLK. I'm able to log in with success, but when I choose which realm to play in, it won't proceed to the character selection. My two characters were set in Frostmourne but since that realm has gone offline (or at least isn't showing up in my Realm Selection) I transfered one of my characters to Icecrown. However, the game still won't let me proceed past the realm selection in the log in menu. Is this a bug and is there any way I can fix it?

Frostmourne is closed. If you ever want to play the second character, transfer it to Icecrown before the transfers are closed too.

Does it give any (error) messages when you select a realm? Is the client you're using the same one you used to play with, or did you download it again?

Hey, yeah just found out Frostmourne closed right after I posted haha.

I transfered my character to Icecrown and left it for the weekend. But came back to test and it still won't let me past the real selection after I log in. I also checked on here and I can see that my character has transferred across, however, their name has been changed. I'm using the same client as before, have never uninstalled/reinstalled the game.

There isn't any error messages or anything. I log in followed by the "Success!" message, but instead of progressing to the character page, the realm selection pop's up. When I select one (Icecrown for instance) it will pop up with "Logging in to game server" but then bring up the realm selection again. I've tried selecting all the available realms, but all have the same result.

You need to rename the characters if somebody is already using the same names in Icecrown. Icecrown players gets the priority to keep the used names. Otherwise people could've stolen names using Frostmourne.

CUT + PASTE your WTF folder elsewhere, or rename it WTF.bak. See if that helps, if not, paste or rename it back.

Ok so I tried to rename my character but it's saying I don't have enough coin. Is there somewhere I can buy them from?

Tried the WTF.bak and the CUT + Paste method but none of those worked either. It seemed to have restarted my game but still came up with the Realm Selection loop.

You do it by logging in-game, selecting a character and trying to play it. It should request a new name then (for free). May have to do it few times before it succeeds.

If it's feasible, I'd try re-downloading the client and see if that helps at all.
