Where does the character go after the season is over?

After WOTLK is done, all characters will be transfered to their Icecrown realm.

Thats what happens to all characters after end of each season. They are transferred to icecrown realm.

is that for sure? what happens if you already have chars on icecrown? do i need to "do" anything so my chars get to icecrown or does it happen by itelf?

they go to the barracks if you exceed the limit of 10 characters. there you can freely switch them in and out
