feral critc chance

Hello there.
I've never played druid before and decided to try to level a feral with looms.
I've notice the weird issue: sometimes when go to bear form, the crit chance isn't increased cause of th weapon skill. I mean, I have like 10% critt chance in a human form cause of low weapon skill, but it should be higher in bear/cat form, isn't it? Should I level weap skill as a feral druid?
So, sometimes it displays 14% crit in bear form, sometiems 10%, I don't know what to think about it. If I get it right, the issue always reproduced after fishing (using fishing pole).

The crit% increases in both feral forms by 11% due to the presence of https://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=17007 and https://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=16944. Should you shapeshift in cat form, you'd get an additional 4% from https://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=48412.

After fishing, did you equip your main weapon again? I can't confirm any issues on my end.

Totally disagreed. Just equip a melee weapon of the type u have low weap skill and see how dramatically crit chance is decreased. I mean I'm a melee person, my main is enha, also got a fwarr, and if u equip a weapon without leveled weapon skill u will see it.

Ofcourse I equipped me main weapon again. It looks like some bug/glitch. Take a look at the pictures from this link https://postimg.cc/gallery/ThnWP8y. Screenshots are named in the ordered manner. I'm pretty sure it happens cause of weapon skills.

I stand corrected and thanks for correcting me. After testing the weapon skill in travel form, I saw that my crit also increased:

Never noticed it before cuz I mostly play as a cat lel, but at the end of the video you can see that the crit% didn't change. It remained 62.73%. I decided to attack more mobs and see whether it would change:

So, yeah, as you can see weapon skill doesn't affect the crit% in feral form.

So, after equipping the fishing rod, the crit % increased because apparently my proficiency in the fishing skill acted as a pseudo weapon skill:

Thank u a lot for the reply. Yeah, seems fishing is some kind of weap skill indeed. Dunno, how this glich works on me and don't work on you, but I guess I'll just let it go. Mby the reason is low level/low overall stats or not-dire bear form, but my crit chance in a bear form is the same as in human form.

Before I posted my comment, I did some experiments on a low-level character w/o Dire Bear Form - just regular bear form. Even though I didn't use an heirloom weapon, swapping between a regular weapon and a fishing rod didn't lead to unusual results.

I speculate that there might be a bug when a person logs into WoW while having equipped the heirloom weapon.

Hey, skullatbash. Thank you for shedding light on the matter (and for all of your contributions to the bugtracker in general). Unfortunately, I still can't reproduce the bug on my low-level character DESPITE having low weapon skill and regular bear form:

Here, I decided to log out, so that I would have a "fresh start". Nonetheless, the melee crit chance was calculated correctly upon entering bear form.

[edit1] Dunno if the realm matters (it shouldn't because all WotLK realms are based on the 3.3.5 client), but my char was on Lordearon. As additional ways to reproduce this bug, I tried changing characters and realms but to no avail. I also logged off from my account, however I got the same results. Here, I should mention that I don't have a low-level druid on Icecrown, so I didn't test the melee crit there.

[edit2]I found it - it's caused by the absence of https://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=16944. In the previous clip, I had already invested a point in that talent w/o realising it in the first place. Then by pure accident I opened that tab and saw that the talent was active. I went to Moonglade in order to reset my talents, and this happened:

As you can see, the weird interaction was caused by the absence of that talent. Upon entering bear form, the crit was the same as the one in neutral form. I then swapped to another weapon and the crit changed to 12.99%, but it was also incorrectly shown in Tauren form. I then invested a single talent point in https://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=16944, which as you know granted me additional 2% crit. This talent then corrected the inconsistencies between the melee crit in neutral form and in bear form.

[edit3] Ye, this bug is definitely caused by the aforementioned talent. I managed to reproduce this bug on a level 80 character:

I switched to my boomie OS, which of course lacked that talent, and you can see the same bug occurring in the first half of the video. I then asked another person to help me test the 5% crit aura from https://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=29801/https://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=24932. My goal was to observe whether crit enhancing auras in general would correct this bug, but, no, that wasn't the case. Only the presence of https://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/spell=16944 fixed it.
