Missing items + unstartable quest chain

Hello warmane com,

first, thanks for making me able to play.

I have spent years on my characters, then took a hiatus and got my account working again. After logging in, i had to discover that over +50% of my items were gone, weapons included. One of these removed weapons was "Quel'delar", important weapon for my fwar, only, i wasn't aware of this at the moment.
So either through time or malicious access, my whole tanking gear set has been removed, aswell as the Quel'delar weapon.

I would never make a ticket just so i could get back any items for free, i know you guys don't want to do things like this and its fine. So don't think i'm coming here to tell you guys to please restore 20 items and my gold for me. Buuuut;

Due to the fact that i was years ago i last logged in, i did not remember doing the battered hilt questline at all. So i bought another BATTERED HILT for +10k and tried starting the quest.

Unfortunately, i can't start the quest-line by rightclicking the BATTERED HILT because i have already "completed that quest".

What a bummer. I feel insanely cheated. Not only can't i properly raid anymore because i have literal s* weapons, i also can't progress item-wise (very hard now to get item upgrade without raid).. because that quest chain is now marked as "complete". I asked a GM about this, he/she declined, obviously. But i was not able to properly explain my situation over there, so i felt like creating a thread on the forum. I hope i am right here (and this is what its for).

I never sold or removed any of my items and it does not feel right to be robbed of 1) my equipment, but also 2) the chance to get it back, at least partially, which would include just doing this quest-line again. I don't even understand why all of my stuff is gone in the first place, only that is a different question and i fear there is no hope for it. To hell with it, i will grind it all again. But the quest-line? Can't you reset it so i can do it again?

I do not understand why my stuff is gone in the first place. But it being taken from me plus the fact that i'm being told there's nothing you can do.... that feels really off.
