Lethality talent giving very inconsistent results at different points

Hello guys, as stated in the topic I have been testing this talent for close to two days seeing how much the talent changes the damage of a backstab critical strike and I can't seem to get a hold of what's going on! Sometimes I on my openers with same gear and procs I get the same results with 2/5 lethality that I get with 5/5 lethality in terms of MAX hit and AVG hit per "Details addon". I think the difference should be bigger, but correct me if I'm wrong and go ahead and test it yourselves. I have 1 spec with Lethality 4/5 and one without it - all things similar I crit max 8159 without it and around 8600 with it. Almost no difference. Same procs and gear.

I summon all the min-max nerds to help me figure this out and see if the talent works as intended.

Lethality only increases your critical strike damage BONUS by 6% per point. Your crits deal 200% damage by default.

So by going from 2/5 to 5/5 you bump your crit damage from 212% to 230% which means your crits deal ~8.5% more damage than before.
From 0/5 to 4/5 and ~8.1k to ~8.6k is well within variance.

I assume it's just an issue with too small of a sample size to make a decent claim. Give it a couple hundred more tries and you should have the expected result.

Makes sense. If that’s the expected increase I don’t see why people ever mention putting points in this talent. Thank you!
