Leveling as prot feels painful

I am fully skilled on prot, try to keep Seal of Wisdom up all the time, but I am constantly out of mana and/or can't keep aggro.

I run Righteous Fury and Blessing of Sancutary. I tried using Blessing of Salvation on allies which actually helps but I immediately get flamed. Not using consecration on cooldown makes me lose aggro, using it on cd makes me oom fast.

Am I doing something wrong?

Are you using any caster items? Typically a prot paladin in tbc will use a caster weapon to boost the damage of their holy damage sources. If you can get an item(weapon) with int and/or mp5, that should help too.
I ask this because this typically wasn't how people gear a prot paladin in vanilla, though I'm unsure if sp scaling or itemization prevented it, or what.
